Community Event – Fairmount Sports Association – Girls Basketball

Fairmount Sports Association (FSA) is excited to announce the Second Season of its ALL GIRLS basketball league at Lloyd Hall (by Boathouse Row) (which has a brand new court).

INFORMATION:
League play will run early December through early March. There will again be 2 age groups: 7-9 year olds and 10-12 year olds. They will offer a travel team program for 13 year olds this year. Try-outs are mandatory (payment is only required if you make the team). They will cap at 6 teams for each league. Preference given to returning players who register in the first week.

REGISTRATION:
Registration will take place at Lloyd Hall on the first 2 Saturdays of November (Nov. 4th & 11th).

Halloween Parade

The Halloween Parade for Grades K through 2 will take place on Thursday, October 26th at 2:00 PM. If you have spare costumes at home, you may bring them to the office or to the individual classrooms for children without costumes.

Our Annual Halloween Party will also take place on MONDAY, OCTOBER 30th, from 3:30 to 5:00 PM in the gym! The flyer will be sent home this week. If you plan to attend, please return the flyer with $5/child. All children must be accompanied by a chaperone!

We need lots of help to staff the activities! Please sign up to volunteer here!

Please drop off the following in the orange bin in the office if you can:

  • Individually wrapped candy and snacks
  • Small prizes for contests and games

Annual Election Day Bake Sale

Our annual Election Day Bake Sale will be held on Tuesday, November 7th from 7am to 7pm at two locations: McCall School and Jefferson polling location (10th & Locust).

Here is the sign-up; shifts are still available at both McCall and at Jefferson Hospital. Kids are welcome (no school that day)!

Please help us staff all shifts; we made thousands of dollars through our Election Day Bake Sales last year.

We need lots of baked goods!! 

For those who are donating baked goods, please email Bake Sale Co-Chairs Priscilla Lo (priscilla.lo@gmail.com), Jessica Mosur (jessicamosur@yahoo.com), or Robin Gauri (rarovers@gmail.com) to let them know what you’re making.

If you don’t want to bake, we welcome contributions of orange juice, bottled water, granola bars, fruit, pretzels, and other healthy snacks.

Blue Ribbon Community Celebration

Thank you so much to those who attended, volunteered at, and organized our Blue Ribbon Celebration on Friday.

We had a phenomenal turnout, complete with a visit from Councilman Squilla!

Thank you to  Bouncy’s on Wheels (McCall Family-Owned) for donating a popcorn machine and a (blue!) cotton candy machine and to Iovine Brothers Produce for donating fruit platters!

Festivities included free pizza, blue hair ribbons, blue beaded necklaces, McCall spirit face-painting, a banner to sign created by Ms. Mandell, fortune cookies with a special McCall message inside, and great community fun!

Thank you to HSA and SAC for this amazing collaborative celebration!

Please join McCall HSA and SAC on Friday, October 13thfrom 4 to 6 PM on McCall’s Playground as our community celebrates our recognition as a 2017 National Blue Ribbon School!

Expect food, fun, and surprises! Bring your own blanket and beverage! Flyers will be sent home and more details to follow this week.
