Coffee with the Principal/HSA Meeting

Our next Coffee with the Principal/Home & School Association Meeting will take place on Tuesday, January 24th at 8:40 AM in the library.

These meetings are a wonderful opportunity to hear from Ms. McKenna, meet other parents, and learn about McCall happenings.

Volunteering at McCall

All parents volunteering in classrooms or volunteering in after school clubs or activities must have clearances on file with the school. This includes chaperoning a field trip. Clearances are free to obtain for volunteers.

There are 3 required components:

All clearances are valid for 5 years. Please turn in copies of your clearances to the office as soon as you receive them.

As of now, volunteers without clearances will not be able to volunteer in the building until all of their clearances are updated.

Please contact Nurse Benjamin at rbenjamin@philasd.org or Ms. Asto at eawalls@philasd.org if you are unsure if your clearances are up to date.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in this matter.

Chinese New Year’s Party

Please join us as at our annual Chinese New Year‘s Celebration on Friday, February 10th from 3:30 to 5:00 PM in the gym.

Flyers have been distributed.

Admission is $5 per person ($15 maximum per family). Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Donations of Chinese food would be greatly welcomed, as well as clementines, water, and Chinese candy.

For questions, please contact Yu Hong Chen at yuhongchen99@yahoo.com.

A note from Nurse Benjamin

Nurse Benjamin reports that cases of flu are on the rise in our area. Other respiratory viruses are also being reported in great numbers.

Please remind your children to cough and sneeze into their sleeves.

Frequent hand washing is very important, not all viruses are killed by hand sanitizer.

Wipe down desks, keyboards, doorknobs, phones, etc. more frequently.

Get plenty of rest and eat healthy foods!
