The most important news and events for the week of February 26, 2018:
Last week’s Chinese New Year’s Party was a huge success!
Thank you to the MANY Chinatown establishments, including Dim Sum Garden, MKee, Bar Ly, Nom Nom Ramen, Raw Sushi Restaurant, Franco’s Pizzeria, Ocean City, Ocean Harbor, and Greenland Bakery, for their generous donations of food. Thanks to Target of South Philadelphia for donating water, clementines, and cutlery.
Also, thank you to the parents, staff, and students who helped with set up, clean up, and donations of food and water.
Thank you to Stephanie Grenier and Alice Chin for organizing this fabulous event!

The 2018 McCall Gala & Auction will take place on the evening of Saturday, May 12th at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown! Please mark your calendars and spread the word. Our Auction Website will be evolving, but here it is!
This event is our school’s largest fundraiser of the year; last year we raised over $45,000! This adult-only community event unites parents, teachers, and neighbors as we all celebrate and support McCall. Our event includes food, drinks, live music, a huge silent (and also live!) auction, and more! Ticket prices include chips for optional mock gaming, which you may redeem for raffle boards at any point during the evening. With the raffle tickets, you can win neat prizes!
The biggest thing we need help with in advance is collecting silent auction items and securing event sponsors. Our Silent Auction includes a range of items including restaurant gift certificates, theme park admission, sporting event tickets, kids’ programs, and salon packages. Securing the donations is easier than you would think, and fun, too. Just keep the forms handy and whenever you frequent a neighborhood establishment in the coming weeks, ask them if they would please support your child’s Philadelphia public school’s upcoming silent auction.
When gathering your donations, please use the:
Items for the silent auction may also be donated online, here.
Shortly, we will be contacting parents who secured last year’s donations, reminding them what they were and asking if they would be able to tap those donors again this year. However, If you tap somebody who has already donated, that’s totally okay, just thank them for their support! We will be updating the catalog on the website so you can see what we have already secured.

All are welcome to attend the next Coffee with the Principal/HSA Meeting on Tuesday, March 13th at 8:45 AM in the Library.
These meetings are a wonderful opportunity to meet other parents and learn about McCall happenings.
The 2018 Parent & Guardian Survey is now available!
The District would like our input. To complete the survey, you will need your child’s six-digit School District of Philadelphia Student ID Number.
The survey will be open through June 8, 2018.
