Pennies for Patients

Classrooms have received collection boxes and students in Grades 1 through 3 have received individual collection boxes to help collect donations to support “Pennies for Patients” which helps raise money to support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

The class with the most money collected by Friday, March 23rd will receive a pasta party from The Olive Garden.

Middle School Girls Softball

Softball practice for middle school girls will begin Monday, March 12thA mandatory meeting will occur at lunch (12PM) on Tuesday, February 27th in Room 322.

Practices are Monday through Thursday from 3 to 5 PM at Starr Garden. No experience necessary.

A softball glove and cleats are necessary; donations may be available for use.

Season will end in mid-May.

All 6th through 8th grade girls are welcome to join the team!

Black History Assembly Programs

McCall’s Black History Assembly Programs will be on Friday, March 2nd. 

The first assembly will be at 9:30 AM, consisting of presentations by grades K,1,2.

The second assembly will be at 1:30 PM, consisting of presentations by grades 3,4,5, and a repeat performance of 2nd grade.

All are welcome!

Dress Down Day

McCall’s next monthly Dress Down Day (University-Themed) will be Friday, March 2nd. 

If participating, please send $1 in and the homeroom teacher will collect the money in the morning.

Participating students earn points toward Blue & Gold Day, McCall’s annual field day in the spring.

Tango Karaoke Night

Please join us for our Fourth Annual Tango Karaoke Night Out on Wednesday, March 7th from 6 to 11PM! Tango (1021 Arch Street) is owned by a McCall family, who is generously donating the $10 cover charge and 15% of food and drink sales back to HSA! Cover gets you food and drink specials, karaoke, and 1 raffle ticket!

We will have raffle tickets for sale for a chance to win a 32 inch Smart TV, a Wireless Bluetooth Karaoke Microphone, and a $25 Visa Gift Card!

The Philadelphia Federation of Teachers will be selling pink pig cut-outs during the half days this week in front of the office. For a cash donation (which will go to “Komen for the Cure Philadelphia”) donors may decorate pink pig cut-outs.
