Our Back to School Night will take place on Wednesday, September 12th from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. (Doors will open at 4:30 PM).

You will have an opportunity to meet your children’s teachers, hear important McCall updates, meet representatives of After School and Extracurricular Programs, and purchase uniforms!

• 4:30PM – 7PM: After-School & Extracurricular Activity Fair (Cafeteria)
• 5PM – 5:30PM: Welcome and School Update from Principal McKenna; HSA President Anna Perng, translated by Mr. Tang (Auditorium)
• 5:40PM – 6:10PM: First Classroom Session
• 6:15PM – 6:45PM: Second Classroom Session (if you have two children)

Phoebe’s BBQ and Milk & Sugar Sweets Truck (McCall alum) will be vending directly.

We will also have our first Uniform Swap. Please bring gently used, outgrown uniforms to the picnic tables.

Many of our teachers have updated their Amazon Wish Lists and/or have Donors Choose projects.

Please take a look and help them fulfill their classrooms’ needs!

This year the Dress Down Days will again take place the first Friday of each month.

As in past years, if your child participates and dresses out of uniform, please send $1 in and the homeroom teacher will collect the money in the morning.

Participating students earn points toward Blue & Gold Day, McCall’s annual field day in the spring.

Welcome back to school! My name is Aimee Schaar and I’m excited to be our school’s Box Tops for Education™ Coordinator this year.

Clipping Box Tops is an easy way to help earn cash for our school. Each one is worth 10¢! Just look for the pink Box Tops on hundreds of products, clip them, and send them to school. The class that collects the most Box Tops will receive an ice cream party at the end of the school year (500 Box Top minimum). Don’t forget to ask friends, neighbors, coworkers, and other family members to save Box Tops for your McCall student! Last school year, we earned over $1,100 for our school from Box Tops and used the money to support ongoing school needs, including Education Works, textbooks, and technology. This school year, our goal is to earn $1,100.

Friday, October 19 is the deadline for our school’s first submission to BoxTops.

Cai Guo-Qiang: Fireflies is a new site-specific work by the internationally acclaimed artist Cai Guo-Qiang. Commissioned by aPA with Fung Collaboratives on the occasion of the centennial of the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Cai Guo-Qiang: Fireflies invites the public to actively experience the Parkway from a new perspective by riding inside the artworks.

This accessible public artwork will be free to all, and will make its world premiere on Friday, September 15, 2017. Fireflies will run for four weekends, Thursdays through Sundays, four hours a night, from Thursday, September 14 to Sunday, October 8, 2017. Residents and tourists alike will be invited to board the vehicles to take rides up and down the Parkway from Sister Cities Park to Iroquois Park near the Philadelphia Museum Art. Others will be able to observe the delicate aerial dance of the luminous orbs from a distance.

Please line up by 8:25 AM on your classroom number on the 7th Street playground side!

Kindergarten dismisses at 3:00 PM in the 6th Street courtyard. Other grades dismiss on the 7th Street playground side at 3:09 PM.

HSA will be selling uniforms Tuesday, September 5th on the playground from 8:30 to 9:00 AM and from 3:00 to 4:00 PM. If interested, please bring cash or check!
